Pigeon Rotavirus Mortalities in Australia

Several lofts across Australia have reported significant mortalities (up to 30%) in their flocks since mid-2016. Clinical signs may include depression, diarrhea, vomiting, regurgitation, and hunched postures. Affected birds died within 12-24 hours through an average course of one week.

There is currently no vaccine available to protect pigeons against this rotavirus.

Lofts should always practice biosecurity measures to protect their flocks.
